The VCE Master Gardeners are trained volunteer educators working with communities throughout Virginia to promote environmentally sound horticulture practices through sustainable landscape management education and training. They provide Help Desk Support (in-person and virtual), Garden Clinics, a Demonstration Garden and ongoing educational events including an Annual Gardening Symposium. Plant NOVA Natives is an all-volunteer coalition of non-profit, governmental, and private groups, working to reverse the decline of native plants and wildlife in Northern Virginia by encouraging residents as well as public and commercial entities to install native plants as the first step toward creating wildlife habitat and functioning ecosystems on their own properties.​ Their website is a comprehensive resource for information about native plants including where to buy them.
